I know, I know, it’s been a while since I’ve updated you guys on life, but I don’t think you guys even care… oh well, I’ll humor myself for a bit.
School.
I finally got into the screenwriting program, so I’m going to apply myself a lot more with school. I tell myself this everytime a semester starts, but I’m more determined than ever. I can’t screw up because I need to stay on top of things if I want to graduate by next spring. I also want to get nothing short of a 3.5, I really need to raise my GPA because I’m beginning to consider grad school. In terms of grad school, I’m mostly looking into NYU, Yale, USC, and UCLA. I’m still not sure which major I want to pursue first in terms of screenwriting and photography, but I’ll have to decide soon…
Career.
This is the year that I stop sitting on my ass and actually launch my ‘career’. My friends and I are going to get serious with a little filmcrew. We’re planning to launch it sometime this semester, so look out for that. I’ll definitely keep you guys updated. I’m currently working on a script for the crew, but if all else fails, I’ll work on it as a standalone project. I’m also working on a website to display/ promote my photography. I’m beginning to work on a portfolio and educating myself with photoshop [though I hate the thought of using it, it is essential to any photographer]. If you or anyone you know is interested in modeling [for fun], let me know. For the most part, I’m shooting for free until I become more ‘established’ / ‘experienced’. I mostly want to launch a website first. They must be in the LA area, though, haha.
Goals.
Within this year alone, I really hope to get some of my work published - whether it be a writing sample or a print of my photography work. I’m determined to do this. I also plan to finish quite a few scripts, I mostly need to do this if I’m considering grad school. I also want to get a job and just keep myself busy. I also plan to look into publishing agencies, I really want to publish a children’s book, but that’s a goal for the future.
Life. And Stuff.
My winter break has been really good to me. When it started, I seriously felt like shit… like it was the end of the world. But with time, things got better and I got lucky enough to meet a few people. I’m excited to go to socal, there’s going to be quite a few changes, but I love new beginnings. I don’t want to get into too much detail, but I haven’t been this happy in a long time. And no, it’s not that one person is making me this happy… it’s just, for the first time in a long time, I’m not scared… I actually feel safe, like everything’s going to be okay - and I guess that’s all I ever wanted.
My friends and I are planning on joining the Vietnamese Student Association, this should be interesting considering I’ve only been involved with the Filipino club [and I’m not filipino]. I really want to get in touch with my roots this semester, so I also plan on reaching out to fellow Cambodian students in some way. I also don’t plan on drinking/ partying as often. As you may have noticed, I haven’t posted about drinking or being drunk in a while, haha. I’m done with that, it’s time to get serious with what I’m doing with my life.
